The name is Justin “JP” Param and I am an artist working out of Southern California. Raised in Carson and parts of Orange County, I grew up gravitating to the fine arts through the elements of graffiti and illustration at an early age.

After figuring out college and art school wasn’t my thing, I went straight to showcasing my Scratchboard art work in different art galleries and painting murals since 2006. Even though I’ve had great experiences and successes, I found that the world of fine art and art galleries wasn’t my scene because of the politics and desensitized vibe of the business toward art as a commodity rather than creative expression and the art itself.

Through my art of scratchboard canvases and illustration, people always suggested I should try the art of tattooing and it stuck. Now 12 years later I have been doing what I love and wouldn’t want to be doing anything else in the world.

I love putting the art first and creating custom clean pieces for clients. To be able to be trusted and create a message through my art on a human canvas humbled me and gave me a sense of peace. This really is the best job in the world and I am blessed to do it.

I am pretty well rounded and open to many different styles and any subject of art that would relate to a good tattoo. I mainly do black and grey but always open to doing color. I will always feel I am still growing and learning to become a better artist and I intend to keep that peace of mind throughout this lifelong career. I am more than blessed to be able to do this beautiful craft as a career to support my family, especially my 3 beautiful lovely expensive daughters. I am beyond grateful and thankful to Dustin Yip for bringing me in to Skanvas Tattoo. I enjoy everyday working along side such talented and humble artists. After working at a few different shops in SoCal I definitely feel like I settled in my home away from home. Big thanks to all those that support throughout the years! Look forward to all the new pieces and art to create in the future. The journey continues.
